So glad you asked! Yes, we have a complete line of helm pads and are happy to build one custom for your boat. They come in three thicknesses up to 6”. Absolutely. Talk to your design consultant about options. We will do whatever it takes to Float your Boat!
Deckpad dropstitch material is extremely patchable. Complications arise if it is punctured through the EVA foam, but it is still patchable. Each Deckpad comes with a patch kit.
We are brutal with Deckpads in R&D and the result is their amazing durability. They are built from the same materials as an inflated SUP, and the rigid but flexible qualities inherent in an inflated structure make them perform extremely well in durability testing.
Deckpads typically fully inflate after 3-4 minutes of pumping with a manual pump. Electric pumps inflate them in 60 seconds or less.
This will void your warranty. Deckpads are not intended to tow behind anything.
Soap, water, and elbow grease. We like a blue scrubby and a slightly abrasive powdered cleaning agent for deep cleaning.
Deckpads will certainly float like a paddleboard, but you will go in circles without a fin. If you are interested in paddling or powering your Deckpad, be sure to tell your design consultant and we will install removable finboxes on the bottom.
There are two concerns: UV and PSI.If you pump up your Deckpad to the proper PSI in the morning when it is cool, as the day warms the PSI will increase and it is recommended that you keep an eye on this and bleed out some air as needed. We have a PSI gauge that you can use to monitor the pressure.Deckpads are designed to be enjoyed in the Sun, but Ultraviolet Radiation will fade and shorten the life of your Deckpad over time. We recommend taking reasonable precautions to limit needless long term exposure. Ask us about a Cover for your Deckpad if you want to store it on your boat at the marina.
We recommend about 5 PSI. Deckpads will get more rigid as the PSI increases, but at a trade-off to the shock absorption qualities. You will quickly get a “feel” for the right pressure, and the right pressure changes depending on the intended use. We recommend staying under 10PSI.
We offer an 18 month warranty that covers materials and workmanship. If a seam leaks, that’s covered. If you accidentally sink a fishing hook into it… that’s what the patch kit is for.
